Tiny House Guest

Found this critter hiding above my front door this morning. There was an awful windstorm last night that kept me awake and probably kept this little bat from getting home. My porch was probably the safest spot it could find on short notice. None of the neighborhood cats or other animals come up here. Hopefully it isn’t hurt and will head home at nightfall.

The oaks have thrown themselves full force into this year’s assault on humans. I am brimming with medication and can barely breathe.  I have spent the last few days arguing with a very determined wasp. The creature insists on building a nest next to the door to my balcony. Three incarnations have appeared and been destroyed thus far.  In short, the natural world is marking the arrival of spring with sincere attempts at murder. At least there are roses everywhere;…

Please Stand By

The short version is that I experienced a somewhat terrifying medical event Saturday night, which I’m still reeling from. I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow morning to start figuring out what the hell happened.   Here is a funny cat gif. Please stand by as we gather more information.

A Silly Weekend Ahead

Getting Things Done and Reading Books

Getting Things Done and Reading Books

Probably shower. Cook rice to feed husband. After finishing up such a straight forward day, I have every intention to go out this evening on…

Post-wedding ramble warm up

Post-wedding ramble warm up

Weddings are nightmarish things and I’m glad it’s over. That said, we had a great party and an amazing outpouring of help from friends, with many folks enjoying the ceremony we wrote together. Our wedding was declared, “the geekiest wedding I’ve ever seen” by many people. The writing schedule is still a bit delayed, due to daily efforts to vacuum up this ongoing glitter infestation. If the question is glitter, the answer is always no. Remember this. I’ve got the…

OMG My Parents Will Be Here Next Week

OMG My Parents Will Be Here Next Week

Wedding stuff is starting to eat into my goals and such.  That said, I’m still going to be posting status reports on my goals semi-regularly.  This is inspired by Wil Wheaton’s blog, where he has some specific things he is grading himself on monthly. Blogging publicly about it makes him accountable, and it works as a motivation tool. I’m not doing the letter grade thing yet, just mostly accounting where I’m at with certain daily or weekly goals. Goals status:…
